Ode to the Mason Jar
My ode to the Mason Jar - a timeless wedding
trend that is not only inexpensive and eco (glass can be recycled an
infinite number of times), but completely full of potential as well. You
would think there is only so much you can do with a glass bottle, but I
am continually surprised with the ideas people come up with!
You are found in cupboards holding preserves, peaches and buttons.
You are humble and timeless and strong.
And now you are shabby chic.
Coveted by brides with shining eyes and good taste.
You are big enough to quench a summer thirst, yet small enough to fit inside the ‘c’ of a human hand.
You are versatile.
You light the way.
You adorn.
You look good on paper.

Minted Suite - Geometic Watercolor Wedding Stationery
So after a few years of not entering anything to Minted Wedding Challenges - I thought this time, why not? Just go for it. Submit what you have and just see what happens. So I did....
Well, a few weeks ago I received a lovely (and very surprising) email saying I won an Editors
Pick. I was totally over the moon. So thank you to everyone who voted. I
really am truly grateful for all your support.
I've had this design in my etsy shop for about a year. I honestly just changed the fonts from Strangelove Narrow to Bauer Bodoni (always one of my top faves) on this invite to modernize it more and make it more chic from the original (on the left) which is more casual. For the Minted version, I also added a splash of color to the names. I entered a few more which I over-thought and stressed about - thinking they had potential. Guess I was wrong, lol.
Once you do win, the process to finalize them and pass them onto Minted is very quick. There's lots of pieces to finalize and you have the option to do many colorways. I wasn't prepared for the short turnaround time they give you. Plan on submitting? If you're a busy person (like moi!) then keep this in mind when you enter your designs. Especially if you enter tons and maybe even win more than one! You may only get a week or two - tops to submit all your pieces. In total, I submitted 8 designs per colorway x 6. Which means, I did 48 designs! Yikes.
Keep you posted when they go live on minted.com
You can purchase this design from my etsy shop as well if you can't wait for Minted.

Casanova Meets Cupid - Valentine's inspired Styled Shoot
For all you aspiring Casanova's out there, it's time to take some notes.
Today's styled Valentine shoot is one for the romance history books.
Complete with a fashion-forward palette, whimsical treats, and a
stunning location, you're sure to secure a place in the heart of your
love if you recreate this festive night. Here's what photographer
Catherine Ann had to say about the gorgeous affair:
For Valentine's Day, instead of a styled wedding we wanted to do a
styled date night. It was an elegant, yet fashion-esque inspired shoot
with pops of red, blue, and gold against a fuchsia backdrop. Our venue,
The Vault, is located in downtown Tampa. While it has a high end,
modern feel to it, it's actually an old bank built in 1923. We wanted
to add a touch of whimsy to the shoot by including zebra balloons and
tiny edible envelopes to our cupcakes and featuring modern and fresh, yet classy wedding invitations designed by Citrus Press Co.

Simple Invitation Etiquette
1. RSVP
From the French, it means “Répondez, s’il vous plaît,” or, “Please reply.” This little code has been around for a long time and it’s definitely telling you that your hosts want to know if you are attending. Reply promptly, within a day or two of receiving an invitation.
2. How do I respond? Reply in the manner indicated on the invitation.
- RSVP and no response card: a handwritten response to the host at the return address on the envelope.
- Response Card: fill in and reply by the date indicated and return in the enclosed envelope.
- RSVP with phone number: telephone and make sure to speak in person – answering machines can be unreliable.
- RSVP with email: you may accept or decline electronically.
- Regrets only: reply only if you cannot attend. If your host doesn’t hear from you, he is expecting you!
- No reply requested? Unusual, but it is always polite to let someone know your intentions. A phone call would be sufficient.
3. Is that your final answer?
- Changing a ‘yes’ to a ‘no’ is only acceptable on account of: illness or injury, a death in the family or an unavoidable professional or business conflict. Call your hosts immediately.
- Canceling because you have a “better” offer is a sure fire way to get dropped from ALL the guest lists.
- Being a “no show” is unacceptable.
- Changing a ‘no’ to a ‘yes’ is OK only if it will not upset the hosts’ arrangements.
4. “May I bring…”
Don’t even ask! An invitation is extended to the people the hosts want to invite—and no one else.- …a date. Some invitations indicate that you may invite a guest or date (Mr. John Evans and Guest) and when you reply, you should indicate whether you are bringing someone, and convey their name.
- …my children. If they were invited, the invitation would have said so.
- … my houseguest. It’s best to decline the
invitation, stating the reason. This gives your host
the option to extend the invitation to your guests, or
not.
5. Say “Thank You.”
Make sure to thank your hosts before you leave, and then again by phone or note soon afterVendors:

Wedding Stationery Time line from Sarka at Citrus Press Co.
Wedding season is nearing so it's best to start your planning, giving yourself plenty of time to get organized and to keep track of all the processes when it comes to your wedding stationery.
I know that there are
many steps to the process and many pieces to keep in mind when thinking
of your wedding stationery. There are save the dates, invitations,
enclosures, menus, programs and thank you cards etc. It can get overwhelming. So I’ve put together
this wedding stationery timeline that will hopefully make it easier for
you to plan your wedding stationery. A couple of big questions I always get are
‘When do I send everything out?’ and ‘What do I write on my wedding
invitation?’ So, I’m excited to share this fabulous and fun
timeline that you should totally print out and keep in your back pocket.
How helpful is that?!
Next week: invitation wording tips, I'll tackle the ‘What do I write on my wedding
invitation?’!
