Ode to the Mason Jar
My ode to the Mason Jar - a timeless wedding
trend that is not only inexpensive and eco (glass can be recycled an
infinite number of times), but completely full of potential as well. You
would think there is only so much you can do with a glass bottle, but I
am continually surprised with the ideas people come up with!
You are found in cupboards holding preserves, peaches and buttons.
You are humble and timeless and strong.
And now you are shabby chic.
Coveted by brides with shining eyes and good taste.
You are big enough to quench a summer thirst, yet small enough to fit inside the ‘c’ of a human hand.
You are versatile.
You light the way.
You adorn.
You look good on paper.

Minted Suite - Geometic Watercolor Wedding Stationery
So after a few years of not entering anything to Minted Wedding Challenges - I thought this time, why not? Just go for it. Submit what you have and just see what happens. So I did....
Well, a few weeks ago I received a lovely (and very surprising) email saying I won an Editors
Pick. I was totally over the moon. So thank you to everyone who voted. I
really am truly grateful for all your support.
I've had this design in my etsy shop for about a year. I honestly just changed the fonts from Strangelove Narrow to Bauer Bodoni (always one of my top faves) on this invite to modernize it more and make it more chic from the original (on the left) which is more casual. For the Minted version, I also added a splash of color to the names. I entered a few more which I over-thought and stressed about - thinking they had potential. Guess I was wrong, lol.
Once you do win, the process to finalize them and pass them onto Minted is very quick. There's lots of pieces to finalize and you have the option to do many colorways. I wasn't prepared for the short turnaround time they give you. Plan on submitting? If you're a busy person (like moi!) then keep this in mind when you enter your designs. Especially if you enter tons and maybe even win more than one! You may only get a week or two - tops to submit all your pieces. In total, I submitted 8 designs per colorway x 6. Which means, I did 48 designs! Yikes.
Keep you posted when they go live on minted.com
You can purchase this design from my etsy shop as well if you can't wait for Minted.

Casanova Meets Cupid - Valentine's inspired Styled Shoot
For all you aspiring Casanova's out there, it's time to take some notes.
Today's styled Valentine shoot is one for the romance history books.
Complete with a fashion-forward palette, whimsical treats, and a
stunning location, you're sure to secure a place in the heart of your
love if you recreate this festive night. Here's what photographer
Catherine Ann had to say about the gorgeous affair:
For Valentine's Day, instead of a styled wedding we wanted to do a
styled date night. It was an elegant, yet fashion-esque inspired shoot
with pops of red, blue, and gold against a fuchsia backdrop. Our venue,
The Vault, is located in downtown Tampa. While it has a high end,
modern feel to it, it's actually an old bank built in 1923. We wanted
to add a touch of whimsy to the shoot by including zebra balloons and
tiny edible envelopes to our cupcakes and featuring modern and fresh, yet classy wedding invitations designed by Citrus Press Co.
To get your pretty little hands on this modern flora inspired wedding invitation, visit my shop!
