Last October I ran a contest through WeddingInviteLove. One lucky person won the contest and I am now working closely with her to design her dream invitations.
She really wanted a Celtic look and feel with a modern twist for her wedding invitations and I hope I have achieved that through these two preliminary designs. One element that she wanted was to include a Celtic Knot, but also wanted it simple and stylish. What do you think she'll go with?
I like them equally, but I hope she goes with the one on the right! I'll let you know and keep updates on the other items she has chosen for her suite. I'll also make these available in my shop for all to enjoy.

My client – Melissa L'Abbé of Melissa L'Abbé Cake Design has asked me to develop a sophisticated yet simple logo for her growing cake business. I'm so excited to tackle this project as branding is my specialty. So I do believe she's in the right hands. I'll keep you posted on the designs and the outcome. I came across this lovely article from Oh My Handmade Goodness and thought to share with you some beautiful bridesmaids gift ideas. Anything from cell phone cases to purses. All of Shibangs designs are unique and one of a kind. Her floral designs are so fresh and modern. I am in love with her purses! I may just have to treat myself :)
Meeting the Makers: Robyn of Shibang Designs
I wanted to share with you my latest order. It's a combination of two of my designs in my etsy shop.
It's my Lemondrop and Vintage Floral Damask paired up.
Stephanie & David (prefers to be called that) loved the love birds used in the Lemondrop design and the simple floral pattern in the Damask design. I was certainly challenged on how to make this work and come together seamlessly. The answer was in the envelopes. By printing the RSVP envelopes in the floral pattern and then lining it with the same floral pattern certainly made the two invites come together. She also chose very simple colors. I was working with Celedon and Coffee from my color chart. Her paper choice, Stardream Quartz, complimented her wedding dress and elegant vintage theme.
The fonts were also something new. She loved the fonts from my Orchid design (Chevalier font – couples names), so again the challenge was how to make this work since the fonts did not come from either set? Soon things took shape and everything flowed together. Finishing the top of the invite with a monogram tied the colors and theme together. Simple design techniques like using fonts on all the cards and using the colors in certain combinations made this invitation finally come to life. I have to say it's my favourite for the moment. I can't wait to post it for sale in my etsy shop!
